Traces of famous visitors

Opening of the Sculpture Walk at the Pulverhaus

On Saturday 22 August, we celebrated the officiall opening of the new Sculpture Walk at Sympatec GmbH's Pulverhaus site. Visitors experienced the unveiling of oversized white feathers created by artist Sina Heffner, followed by engaging conversations with the artist herself. Guided underground tours of the Dorothea and Caroline mines complemented the day, offering visitors a first-hand encounter with the site’s mining heritage.

A festive opening full of heritage, art and insopiration

With the new Sculpture Walk, Sympatec expands the Pulverhaus site into a cultural meeting point where art and history intersect. The installation honours the famous visitors of the neighbouring Dorothea and Caroline mines and reflects the fascination that, as early as the 18th century, drew study travellers from all over Europe to the Harz mining sites.

During the opening, visitors gained first-hand insights into the artist’s concept, while guided tours underground provided a vivid link between the sculptures above ground and the mining heritage below. The atmosphere was one of curiosity, conversation and celebration. We are pleased that so many joined us at the Pulverhaus!
