Thanks for the support of the biathlon offsprings of the Harz region

16. Aug 2019

Sven Münch, chairman of the Ski-Club Buntenbock, honoured our long-term support of the fundraising campaign Treffergeld with a picture signed by Arnd Peiffer, which shows the World and Olympic Champion from the Harz region together with the current supporters.

The campaign has contributed over 50,000€ to the local Oberharzer ski clubs and biathlon sponsoring association over the past 10 years. Every hit that was archived by the top biathletes at World Cup Races, World Championships and Olympic Games was rewarded by the sponsors with initially one and today with two euros. At the premiere in January 2009, the two athletes Arnd Peiffer from the ski team WSV Clausthal-Zellerfeld and Daniel Böhm from the ski team SC Buntenbock competed in the World Cup. Both athletes had been supported by Sympatec through individual sponsorships during their transition from amateur to professional sport. The World Cup debut of the two then already raised a donation of 2,000€.

The funds of the campaign will be donated in full to the promising biathlon offsprings through the Ski-Club Buntenbock, the Winter Sports Club Clausthal-Zellerfeld and the Biathlon Sponsoring Association Harz. Biathlon is an expensive sport, which requires not only an extensive ski equipment but also a weapon with associated consumables (small calibre ammunition, air rifle pellets). Furthermore, considerable travel costs for training courses, training camps and competitions do not only occur in winter.

Therefore, the junior athletes of the Harz region celebrated their first successes on national and international level in various age groups.
