What to do after the server PC has been renamed (WINDOX 5.1.1.0)?

Renaming the computer, unplugging the network cable, joining a network, and other network-related changes may cause WINDOX 5.1.1.0 to malfunction. In these cases

Please proceed as follows:

• close all WINDOX programs (such as the Sensor Control),
• stop all WINDOX services (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> stop "WINDOX CORBA Services" and confirm any upcoming dialogs,
• delete all files in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application, data\Sympatec\WINDOX5\Cfg and subdirectory ...\INS but not the subdirectory ...\INS itself,
• start the Database Administration program, look at it, then close it,
• restart WINDOX (Sensor Control or whatever).

This might not be enough. If it does not help, a re-installation will be necessary:

• uninstall WINDOX 5,
• delete directory C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application data\Sympatec\WINDOX5\Cfg,
• rename directory C:\WX5DATA (directory of the working databases) to keep a backup copy of your working databases,
• install WINDOX 5 again.
