HELOS/R Wide-Range-Technology for Particle Size Analysis from 0.1µm up to 3500µm

The HELOS/R sensor family is the first & only using pure and best suited "Low Angle Laser Light Scattering" in the parallel laser beam. This exclusive forward scattering overcomes all handicaps of hybrid LD-sensors caused by the mixing of different methods from forward- to backscatter individually complemented with sidescatter.

Both Fraunhofer and Mie theory are available for the full size range, allowing for the characterisation of extremely wide size distributions with x90/x10 >100.

The HELOS/R sensor family have state of the art electronics to further improve accuracy and speed of the data acquisition. A standard TCP/IP interface connects the instruments via your in-house network or directly with the controlling PC.

HELOS/KR with the New Range-Combination Technology 0.1µm up to 3500µm

The HELOS/KR Laser Diffraction sensor now includes wide range measurements from 0.1 µm up to 3500 µm.

HELOS/KR with dry disperser RODOS and vibratory feeder VIBRI covering the unique size range from 0.1µm to 3500µm using forward scattering only

The new evaluation software allows for the combination of the intensity distributions of individual measuring ranges with up to 124 independent measuring points into one common result. The HELOS/KR is equipped with four measuring ranges from 0.1µm to 3500 µm, or three measuring ranges from 0.25 µm to 3500 µm mounted on a fully automated single lens revolver. No change of lenses is required.

HELOS/BR with the New Range-Combination Technology from 0.1µm to 875µm

The HELOS/BR Laser Diffraction sensor implements the technology of range combination in a housing with very small footprint, offering a measuring range from 0.1 µm up to 875 µm.

HELOS/BR with wet disperser SUCELL covering a size range from 0.1µm to 875µm

The new evaluation software allows for the combination of the intensity distributions of individual measuring ranges with up to 93 independent measuring points into one common result. The HELOS/BR is equipped with up to three measuring ranges from 0.1 µm to 875 µm mounted on a fully automated single lens revolver. No change of lenses is required.

HELOS-VARIO/KR Wide-Range-Technology for Particle Size Analysis with Variable Measuring Zone

The HELOS-VARIO/KR Laser Diffraction sensor extends the HELOS/KR with a variable measuring zone in the range of 123mm to 1400mm. If the width of the mesuring zone is set to its minimum, this device can be used with most of our dry and wet dispersing units, like a HELOS/KR. If the measuring zone is wide, it can be used for particles size analysis at wide aerosol beams or spray cones.

HELOS-VARIO/KR with dry gravity disperser GRADIS/L and the vibratory feeder VIBRI/L for particle size analysis on coarse dry materials up to 3500µm.

TCP/IP Control of Sympatec Sensors

All HELOS/R and MYTOS systems are equipped with a TCP/IP communication between sensor and PC. This new technology has a number of advantages: The PCs standard network interfaces can be used as well as existing network infrastructure for distant connections in process control, whereby the communication is secured via authentification protocol. In sealed laboratories of pharmaceutical companies wireless network is possible. The WINDOX sensor control software can be installed on a virtual PC.

Additional new features are on the verge of availability: A significant speed up of the PC-to-instrument communication, corresponding to the speed of current networks. Measurements are carried out with a precise timing, based on timers in the instrument, independent of the PC processor load. More than one logical channel (command, data, ...) between instrument and PC enable measurements and instrument control virtually at the same time. More than one sensor can be attached to the same PC without special hardware.

RODOS adapted to the New HELOS/R Series

Sympatec has adapted the well established dry disperser RODOS to the new HELOS/R series.

RODOS with vibratory dosing unit VIBRI, feeding the groove of the turntable, compacting roller, and rotating brush assembly for constant dosing of even extremely fine or adhesive, sticky products.

The RODOS is the universal dry dispersing unit applicable for nearly all kinds of dry powders with particle sizes in the range from < 0.1µm to about 3500 µm. The patented combination of feeding and dispersing enables a smooth, complete, product adaptable dispersion, which is widely extended into the SUBMICRON range.

RODOS is proven within 25 years in some thousand applications.

QUIXEL for Wide-Range Combination

Sympatec has widened the field of applications of the wet disperser QUIXEL.

The new QUIXELmounted on an X95 stand.

In order to meet the requirements of the wide-range combination supplied with the new HELOS/KR series, the pump and flow cell has been optimised to cover the size range from 0.1 µm to just below 2 mm with a single 2 mm-cuvette.

A sophisticated design of the 3D flow path enables even for very coarse and high density particles to be transported properly.

By its tubeless construction, its fast fill, drain and clean cycles it is the ideal choice for suspensions with wide size distributions in combination with the new HELOS/R series. Liquid volume: 250 ml to 1000 ml.

SUCELL with Universal Chemical Resistance for Size & Shape Analysis

Sympatec improved the wet disperser SUCELL. It can be applied for a very wide variety of solvents, as the new basin is manufactured with a laser welding process and all hoses and seals in the liquid loop are made of PTFE or FFKM.

The new SUCELL mounted on top of the dry disperser RODOS. This OASIS-combination allows for a wide range of applications in the liquid and dry regime.

For the peristaltic pump hose materials such as EPDM, FKM, Marprene® and CHEM-SURE®, . which is similar to PTFE, are provided. Flow cuvettes with a gap width of 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2, 4mm and integrated RFID identification are available to adapt this device to the specific application and measuring range. Handling, accessibility and cleaning have been further improved to meet the requirements of industrial applications. Liquid volume: 400 ml (50 ml with Small volume Adapter).

WINDOX 5.5.1 Software Supports New HELOS/R Series with Wide-Range-Technology

Sympatec continuous its strategy to support all instruments with a single, and powerful software, WINDOX. The new release WINDOX 5.5.1 fully supports the new HELOS/R series in adition to the already existing instruments for particle size and shape analysis in the laboratory an process environment.

WINDOX 5.5.1 is focused on innovations for Sympatec’s working horse: The laser diffraction sensor, HELOS. It supports both, the new HELOS evaluation, including the highlights, range combination and Mie evaluation for all measuring ranges, and the new TCP/IP control of the HELOS/R sensors.

Especially the range combination takes best profit from the new technology, the optimized optical modelling, the new electronics with a faster and the new mechanics changing fully automatically measuring ranges in seconds. As the HELOS evaluation has been fundamentally redesigned, the evaluated results are approaching the "truth" as definend by the Standard Meter, as close as currently possible.

The HELOS/R series in combination with WINDOX 5.5.1 is much more than an update of the HELOS/F-serie. It is a "Revolation" = Revolution by Renovation !
