The core of WINDOX 5 is a Firebird database, implemented in a three tier model (database server - application server - clients), to which all sensor control programs and the data visualisation program are connected. The database server may be installed on the measuring PC or another PC in the network. Neither a special PC hardware nor a server operating system are required.
To store all data in a server-operated database has several advantages
Concurrency
- concurrent access from different clients on the same PC or other PCs in the network,
- optional automatic update of open browser lists, diagrams, or other views on the data when records are added, deleted or modified, by an event signaling system.
Speed
- extremely fast handling of large amounts of data, typically some 100,000 laser diffraction measurements, powered by the application server,
- convenient and fast search and filter functions available via the WINDOX database browser,
Security
- built-in data integrity and protection against unauthorized access, an essential contribution to 21 CFR 11 compliance,
- detailed specification of user-specific and database-specific access rights.
FDA 21 CFR 11 compliance
WINDOX 5 covers all application fields of all types of Sympatec particle sizing instruments,
- laboratory (off-line) or process (in-line / on-line) applications,
- routine quality control or individual scientific analyses,
- simple operation with predefined standard set-ups or demanding measuring tasks.
- WINDOX 5 has all the required features, including
- quality-controlled software devlopment,
- protection against data manipulation,
- audit trail of admitted modifications,
- administration log,
- digital signature of evaluated results
