Particle size analysis of supensions and emulsion with the wet disperser LIXELL
inserted in the measuring zone of a QICPIC
Technical specifications and dimensions.
LIXELL is a very flexible wet dispersion system which can easily be adapted to nearly all types of applications. Its basic construction comprises a flow cell with inlet and outlet connector. Cuvettes with different optical path length of 0.2 mm, 0.5 mm, 1 mm, 2 mm and 4 mm are available (laser diffraction only 2 mm and 4mm are used). They can be easily exchanged, while the used cuvette type is automatically identified by wireless RFID technology.
The cuvette position is controlled along the optical axis by software at high precision. For image analysis this function is used as auto-focus on the measured particles, i.e. the WINDOX software ensures, that the particles are always imaged at the maximum sharpness. For laser diffraction this function is used to position the cuvette automatically to the optimum working distance, which is depending on the measuring range. The cuvette is designed to operate at up to 3 bar and up to 80°C.
Inlet and outlet hoses (PTFE as standard) can be manually connected to the front, top, or rear. Depending on the application, the user may provide dosing units such as a pump or a manual operated syringe (for sample volumes down to 20ml), an external basin, a sonication stage, a fill or drain container etc..
A six pin Lemosa plug is provided for the power supply (24V DC @ 4A max.) and the control (RS485) of the external devices.
LIXELL can be used with all members of the QICPIC and HELOS family.
