Vacuum cleaners are used as extraction devices for dry dispersion (RODOS, GRADIS family) and sprays (SPRAYER). The dwell time of the fine particles in the measuring zone is influenced by the vacuum level. Hence constant vacuum levels are required for optimum reproducibility.
| off-line: | The filter cloths of vacuum cleaners are quickly covered by the finest particles thus reducing the vacuum level. They must be cleaned more or less often manually for off-line extraction devices. Off-line extraction devices are recommended for laboratory use. |
| on-line: | For applications in the on-line or auto-line field we recommend extraction devices with automatic filter cleaning. The cleaning process is controlled e.g. via the auto-RODOS module by the HELOS interpreter programme. |
